Highlights and the DVD

I just posted a short video that attempts to recapture what the entire week was about. We'll be showing this video during our service this Sunday (7/27); feel free to use it in your service as well.

I'm still working on pulling together all the materials for the DVD; now that the highlight video is done, there are a couple other short videos (which will also be posted to the site) that need to be wrapped up. Unfortunately (for the DVD at least) I'm taking a vacation next week, so that pushes the DVD out until August. I apologize to those who had high hopes of getting it sooner!

That's a Wrap

What a week! As I put the finishing touches on the last groups of photos and videos, I get to re-live some of the memories created each day. I just wrapped up editing on my favorite day of the week: Thursday, the last work day. There were so many awesome things as work wrapped up that I had twice as much video to sort out. To the friends and family of the SERVE participants: your loved ones were incredible vessels of God's love throughout the week and it has been a privilege to work hand-in-hand with them.

I'd also like to take a moment and say thank you, again, to everyone who hung in there through the first couple of days as we sorted out the problems with the contact form. By the end of the week, we had around one hundred message of encouragement. Walking past our mailboxes, I'd see kids showing off the notes they'd received that day, so your words of wisdom, stories from home, and prayers were appreciated.

One last note: though the week of SERVE is over, I still have a ton of photos and video to post in the upcoming week, so keep checking back!

Getting the Goods

Here's the scoop on the video and photos: I'm working on DVDs to send to all of the groups; the DVDs will have all the photos and videos from the week. Those DVDs should be in the mail sometime next week (7/20-7/26). With that said, if you want to get your hands on something before the DVDs arrive, you can get print quality versions of the photos and DVD quality versions of the videos. Here's how:

Photos

Head over to the 2008 Muskegon SERVE photoset.
Find the photo you're interested in.
Click on the "All Sizes" link just above the photo.
Click on the "Original" link in the list of available sizes.
Click on the "Download the Original size" link just above the photo.

You now have a copy suitable for printing at your favorite digital photo processing center.

Videos

Under each video on this page is the video's title; for example: "Day Two (Sunday) on Vimeo". Click on the video's title.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
In the lower right corner there is a "Downloads" section with a link to "Download Quicktime version". Click on that link and download the original DVD-quality video.
